What is Heart Rate Variability? What is the BEST way to measure it? What is the connection between heart rate variability and chiropractic? How can I implement the use of heart rate variability into my practice?
ALL of this and MORE can be found in this AMAZING on-line course!
This course dives into what heart rate variability is, what it means in relation to overall health and autonomic nervous system function, how to properly evaluate heart rate variability and how the practice of chiropractic fits into the regulation of heart rate variability. It also covers how heart rate variability is associated with proper neurodevelopment and the neurobiology of disease, both physical and mental. The polyvagal theory and clinical application are also covered in a fun and easy to understand way!

Hour 1: Adapt or Die: HRV and its Unique Possibility for Chiropractic
This hour will cover the “ins and outs” of understanding heart rate variability. It will also cover neuroadaptation and the function of vagal tone and heart rate variability and the potential role of chiropractic care in modulating heart rate variability.
Amy Haas, DC, PhD
Hour 2: Hitting the Gas: Using HRV in Practice
This hour will cover how to properly use various devices to measure heart rate variability, both in a personal and clinical setting, and how to properly interpret the findings. It will also cover how to use heart rate variability as a measure of a patient's neurological integrity as well as a measure of treatment outcomes.
Amy Haas, DC, PhD
Hour 3: HRV Research in Chiropractic; Developing an HRV Program in YOUR office
This hour will cover chiropractic research and heart rate variability, how to interpret the research and what it means clinically. It will also cover neurophysiological considerations as measurements of heart rate variability and the role chiropractic care plays and how to develop reasonable care plans using HRV in a clinical setting.
Amy Haas, DC, PhD
Hour 4: HRV Research in Chiropractic; Developing an HRV Program in YOUR office (con’t)
Hour 5: HRV, the Polyvagal Theory and Neurodevelopment
This hour will cover the foundations of the Polyvagal Theory, sensory-motor regulation and neurodevelopment. It will also cover red flags to look for clinically as well as ways to support optimal vagal tone in the patient population.
Monika Buerger, BA, DC
Hour 6: HRV and the Developing Mind
This hour will cover the neurocircuits associated with optimizing vagal tone/heart rate variability and why they are considered the neurobiology of disease. It will also cover the current chiropractic neuroscience and how the chiropractic adjustment may affect these neurocircuits.
